28 text tools and a diff checker on one page

Clean up and convert text, or compare two versions line by line. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you paste leaves your computer.

How to use it

The diff checker works a little differently. Paste the original and the changed version into its two boxes, then press Compare.

01

Paste your text

Drop your text into the box. You'll see the word, character and line counts change as you type.

02

Pick a tool

Choose a group, then the change you want. Most results update as you type. The generators run when you press Run.

03

Copy it or keep going

Copy the result, or press Use result as input to run another tool on it. You could remove duplicates, then sort.

Questions about the text tools

Do you see or store the text I paste?+
No. Every tool on this page runs in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you paste goes to a server or gets saved by us, and the text is gone when you close the tab.
How does the diff checker compare two texts?+
By default it matches lines. It finds the longest run of lines both versions share, then marks the lines that were removed from the original and the lines that were added in the changed version. That way one new line near the top doesn't flag everything below it. If you'd rather compare line 1 with line 1, line 2 with line 2 and so on, switch the mode to position.
How is the readability score calculated?+
It uses the Flesch Reading Ease formula, which looks at the average number of words per sentence and syllables per word. The score runs from 0 to 100, and higher means easier to read. Most plain English writing scores between 60 and 70. Syllables are estimated by counting vowel groups, so treat the number as a guide.
Are the generated passwords safe to use?+
They're made on your device with your browser's cryptographic random number generator, and they never leave the page. Longer is better. A 16-character password that mixes all four character types is hard to crack. Keep it in a password manager.
Why won't my JSON format?+
JSON is stricter than JavaScript. Keys and strings need double quotes, trailing commas aren't allowed, and comments aren't allowed either. The error message tells you the line and column where the parser stopped, and the mistake is usually right there or just before it.
Is Base64 a way to encrypt text?+
No. Base64 only rewrites data using 64 plain characters so it can pass through systems that only handle text, like email or a data URL. Anyone can decode it, so don't use it to hide passwords or private information.
